Option Select (Kyros)

Olivia walked through the room in the local arcade dedicated to fighting games, it was her favorite selection of games in the whole building. She had used a lot of tokens in this room, and she had gotten pretty good. She decided to survey the competition a bit, so she looked around at everyone playing, trying to figure out who knew what they were doing. She couldve fought against just anyone if she wanted, but if you keep playing against medicore players you'll never git gud. Olivia wanted a challenge.

There was an extremely buff dude with a cat for a face in the arcade, and he was challenging people to games of Mortal Kombat. If he was taking challenges than Olivia wanted in. She walked over to the machine cracking her knuckles. "Ok guy, im in!"

Olivia inserted her coin and got to the character select screen, she didnt know a lot about Mortal Kombat but she knew Kano was a decent rush down character, and had good footsies, that and his knife pressure was insane. She picked Kano and hoped this cat guy wouldnt pick a character she didnt know anything about.

Olivia cracked her knuckles as the game loaded in, this super buff cat guy was clearly good, she could feel it. Mortal Kombat finished loading and the two characters entered the arena, which had a ton of cheering people in the background. Olivias cyborg Australian threw one his knives around and gestured towards Daves Ice Ninja "Oui... Wats et tayke tah joyn ya club?" Olivia could barley understand what he was saying because he spoke austrailian, but it sounded cool and tough.

You know what they say... Daigo always gives you a round.

Olivia stayed pretty silent as the second round began, the announcer called it out "Round 2! Ready? FIGHT!"

Her strategy changed up, noticing DAVE had been playing very aggressively in the last round, she opted to throw her defensive play style away and instead be just as aggressive. The perfect opening was the ice blades, they hit hard but they left Sub Zero very open for punishes. Right when DAVE had used the ice blades again Olivia ducked down and gave Sub Zero an uppercut, followed by a ton of quick cuts and stabs. Then as soon as she could she activated Kanos X-RAY attack, which finished off round 2.

She shrugged "You did pretty good too... warrior."

A... double KO?! Olivia didnt even know that was possible in Mortal Kombat! Her jaw dropped, she was in shock, this was impossible.

DDR next? Yeah alright...

"Uh... yeah lets do some DDR next..." she was still in shock but she needed to get out of it, she couldnt let it get to her, Olivia needed to stay calm so she wouldnt mess up and lose to DAVE.

She stepped up to the DDR machine, doing a few quick stretches to get ready.

DAVE had bowed to her japan style, she wasnt sure what to do in response so she just gave a thumbs up.

"S-S-S-S-S-SELECT YOUR SONG"

Olivia was given the chance to make the first selection, she chose a DDR classic "Dancing your love away all night the final chapter prologue".

"ALRIGHT THATS COOL LETS D-D-D-D-DANCE"

As soon as the song began her feet looked like they were moving on their own to the rythem of the song, perfectly hitting every note, she didnt look over to see what DAVE was doing but she assumed he was doing just as good.

"Yeah... youre pretty good." she said, panting along with him, they had attracted an audience. Olivia looked up the score, she hadnt been watching his moves as shed been so focused on her own but she mustve won. The screen flashed something she didnt even know was possible on DDR.


"What?! How can that even happen?!" she was in shock, this was impossible! How could they have gotten a perfect tie again?!

Olivia tapped her chin... there was one game in here that she was the best at, there was no way thered be a tie in that one...

"Alright... how about Street Fighter? Any good at that?"

She lead DAVE over to the Street Fighter cabinet, it was one of the most played in the arcade, the buttons where a bit worn out but everything still worked fine.

"Ive never seen a tie in this, this game can decide it."

Third Strike was Olivias home, it had been a little while since she had fought someone as good as DAVE, neither of them where simple button bashers, they where pros.

Olivia selected Makoto, her favorite character to use, she was a young karate master, who had to defeat strong opponents to bring honor to her dojo. "And ill pick Makoto, she fights a lot like me too."

The announcer spoke up as the game loaded up.

"Alright ive been waiting for this one..."

The fighters enterd the Jazzy NY metro, probably the best stage in the whole game, and the fight began.

"Enter the heat of battle... GO FOR IT!"

The Karakusa was the most important move in Makotos arsenal, it was the reason you play as her. She charged in with a quick Hayate, canceled it into a kick, then did her first Karakusa of a game with a light kick, using the light kick grabs the opponent faster, but it has poor range. Makoto picked up Alex by the throat with both hands, then chucked him onto the ground.

A fierce standing punch into a dash punch, she had managed to get Alex into the corner, perfect. Jumping roundhouse kick, standing fierce punch, EX Jab dash punch, and jab dash punch, it was one of Makotos best combos, and it won Olivia the first round.

But the time for popping off wasnt yet...

"Final Round! LETS GO!"

Good 3rd Strike matches went by fast, and these where amazing matches, but this was the final round, this would decide who won.

Makoto sent in an easy punch, baiting Alex into doing a parry, which she punished with a Karakusa. But before she could rush in and do a high damage combo Alex retaliated with a Stun Gun Headbutt super art, it was one of the harder to pull off moves in the game but it did a great deal of damage. She quickly retailiated and did another Karakusa, which she followed up with her own super art Abare Tosanami. The two fighters had tiny slivers of health, and both players where being defensive.

Makoto rushed in with a Jab Punch, Akex ducked down to dodge and punish with a kick, Makoto quickly cancelled into her chop, both moves hit at the same time.

"DOUBLE K.O."

The crowd that was watching the two silenced, no one had ever really seen a double k.o, no one knew what happened next.

"Judgement!"

A bunch of cute girls with signs appeared between the two fighters, yes! Theyd decide who won! No ties! This is it! The girls raised their signs and before anyone could read them a messed up version of Gills sprite doing Seraphic Wing coverd up the screen while it played his laughing taunt, it was impossible to see who won, and before it skipped over to the results screen the game shut itself off.
