And not just any students. Awakened mages, or at least those mages whose powers haven't quite surfaced yet. The wonderful part about these characters are that you can make them whoever they want to be, but with with a specific style of ability.
Awakened mages are known for their incredible versatility in powers across nine spheres of influence:
- Correspondence (Space)
- Entropy
- Life
- Time
- Spirit
- Prime (Mana)
- Forces
- Matter
- Mind

Combinations of these spheres give mages their power and influence. There is however a massive downside: paradox. Unlike other magical inhabitants of the school, The Awakened are vulnerable to a variation of Newton's Third Law...the bigger magic you cast, the more reality hits you back, and it will do so without mercy. (Have you ever seen Aurora use her really powerful magic? If you said no, this is the reason why.)
Merely casting magic around non-Awakened causes this problem, although it's offset by casting magic so that it looks believable by those who don't believe in magic.
