Character's Name: Asaph (ey-sif)
Character's Nickname:
  • Ace: Because he is a demon, he has a strict "no-name-policy" to prevent others from gaining control over his actions by using his true name. He more or less developed the nickname Ace when he possessed a pilot who had the same nickname; of course he drove the man's plane into the ocean so he figured the poor guy wouldn't mind if he borrowed it for a while.[/list:u]Character's Age: 20-vessel
    Characters Birthday: April 14th~
    Character's Gender: Male-vessel; essentially gender-neutral.
    Character's Species: Middle-Classed Demon
    Category: Student
    Class: College
    Major: Psychology
Appearance Description: Asaph's vessel is an average sized male, 5'11", with sandy brown hair and eyes of a golden hue, they used to be dark brown in color, but after his possession, Ace's presence forced them golden and they've remained that way ever since. His body type is rather thin in shape, not much muscle on his bones which can at times make things difficult for Asaph whenever he gets himself into dangerous situations, not that he cares; the damage that the body retains is not his own anyways, so if it gets a little bruised while he's inside of it it's not going to matter to him in the long run.

His true form has been described as a tall figure, standing at about 6' 5'', dressed in traditional white robes and a large over coat usually varies in color. Upon his head, he is said to be wearing a mask that covers his face, hiding it from view; the mask resembles that of an ovular disk with the occasional engravings that is meant to resemble a dear skull and is mounted near the top with antlers that seem to sprout more from his own head than from the mask itself. From the mask, a headdress of light fabric and paper strips flow down and touch the mid-back of his traditional gown, it is also infused near the antlers with blood red flowers that vary from blooming to dead depending on how much power he has absorbed. Not much else is known about this form as not many people have seen him without the mask or the robes, for all they're concerned he could very well be a woman under the mask and they wouldn't be able to know.

Personality Description: Asaph is a short tempered, self-involved and impulsive individual. He'll often act on things without thinking them all the way through, which usually results in him getting into situations that are difficult to get out of, which really explains his current predicament. The cause of his impulsive actions primarily stems from his impatient attitude, if he wants something to happen he will make it happen and go out of his way to ensure that the result is exactly how he wants it to be, this usually doesn't include thinking past his preferred result. Despite his many negative qualities, he considers himself to be a very generous demon who has a pretty optimistic outlook on his life as well as everyone else's; of course, this doesn't mean that his idea of optimism isn't skewed by the fact that he eats people's regrets as a power source and believes that bad things happening is a good thing for him.

Asaph is enthusiastic and can be charismatic in the right setting. He isn't afraid to make the first move in any given situation, which has often proven to make matters more difficult for those associated with him. For him, independence is key. He won't take orders given to him by others lightly and has all but run away from the idea of making pacts with any humans because of this.

    Powers:
    • Devour: Asaph has the ability to turn the regrets of humans into an energy that he can devour and use as a form of power to fuel his abilities and existence. He has retained this ability while in his vessel, but lacks the power to physically manifest as his true form and devour the regret as energy from the humans. Because of this, he often requires the regret to be written down on a physical piece of paper that he then devours in order for him to convert it into the proper energy within his vessel's body.
    • Memory Manipulation: Paired with his ability to devour the regret of an individual, he often offers to make an individual forget said regret by erasing the memories of their regrettable actions. Of course, he only offers this ability for a price. Although the favors he asks are not always simple, they often vary in difficulty and can at times put the individual who agrees in life threatening danger.[/list:u]
Biography: Asaph has existed for many centuries, living off of the regrets and sorrows of the humans he's encountered. One such year, he encountered a young child that was giving off one of the strongest waves of regret and sorrow that he'd experienced in a while. Curious, he observed the child for a few months to determine the source of his regrets and discovered that the sorrow was a result of the child blaming himself for something that was beyond his control. Seeing this boy's plight as an opportunity for a tasty meal, Asaph approached the child on his eleventh birthday with an offer to erase the memories that hindered him in return for a favor. The boy didn't accept his offer at first, but after coming back a few more times over the course of two years and developing a sort of friendship with the child he was able to convince him that ignorance was bliss and that by agreeing to his favor he would be able to grant him that bliss.

After the child agreed, he entered the boy's body and possessed him, planning to devour his regret from the inside out and hollow him to the point where he wouldn't be able to feel anything again. While possessing the child, he lived out his life for him, participating in the boy's day to day activities as if nothing had changed, all the while feeding off him to satisfy his own hunger and gain the power that it brought him to feed. Unfortunately, the longer he occupied the child's body the more attached to it he seemed to become until he was no longer able to separate himself from his vessel. It was during this time that he began to act violently in an attempt to tear himself from the vessel. In the process, he revealed to the boy's family that he had possessed their child and they became worried, seeking out the help of lesser priests and weak exorcists in the hope of banishing him from the boy's weakening body.

They tried everything, but all of their attempts failed; eventually the parents seemed to give up, fearing for the loss of their youngest son. It was at this point that the family received a letter from the Starlight Academy, inviting their child to attend. In hopes that they'd be able to help release him from the hands of the demon that possessed him the parents implored Asaph to attend the school. In the end, wanting to be free of his prison as much as they wanted their son back, Asaph agreed to leave for the school in hopes of finding a way to escape his vessel...or gain enough power to break himself free.

      Additional Information:
      • Asaph has decided to attend the school under the guise of a psychology major in hopes that his connection to the world of counseling would get him closer to the other student's regrets and allow him to gather more power to ensure his escape from the vessel.
      • Asaph possessed the boy's body when he was thirteen years old, so in reality he has been inside of his body for around seven years.
      • The vessel that he inhabits has a few abilities of his own, but because Asaph possessed him his abilities overpowered them making him unable to tap into them.[/list:u]
