・・ APPEARANCE ・・

If you would ever run into Razon in the streets, he would be easily forgettable. On the first glance of him, he seems like a person without a very memorable face, nor any remarkable features to bother doing a double take at all. Perhaps it's the masked presence of a Reaper, but Guillermo Razon isn't exactly an ordinary face. To say he possesses any sort of inhuman beauty would be an exaggeration, but Razon does indeed have a very handsome appearance.

Standing tall at a height of 6'1ft, with a rather athletic build, Razon has a firm stance, making this man more intimidating than he actually is. He dresses sharply and cleanly, making sure to appear his clothing never appears askew or other. Razon has the face of a mature man, possibly not any younger than his mid 20s, with features that are finely chiseled and vaguely European in some angles.

His facial features are rather angular, with a pointed nose, noticeable cheekbones, and a sharp jawline that can probably cut something. Solid eyebrows also appear above his eyes, almost appearing to be constantly furrowed. He often keeps a slight amount of facial hair. Razon also has a few moles, two of which are on his face: one on his cheek, right under his right eye, and the other above the bridge of his nose.

A mess of ashen black hair rests on his head, short and made to brush away from his face. His red eyes are sharp and narrow, its redness appearing like blood seeping out in contrast to his pale skin. Though its light is already dulled and weighed down by the stress of his work with lines under it, it remains young and ageless as the rest of his body.

Razon's clothing is almost always business-like when at work. He always dresses in monochrome of blacks to a small amount of greys and whites, and only occasionally adding gold or silver accessories to his outfit. Hidden somewhere in his person is his Reaper scythe, which appears as a gold key card in its compact form. A favorite accessory of his seems to be a silver pin-back of two swords crossed together, pinned on the lapel of his blazer and chained to his tie pin. Oddly enough, his dressed-down attire seems fairly more loose and comfortable but nowadays, it's become rare for him to dress that way with half his day spent at Invidia's side.

・・ PERSONALITY ・・

There are too many words say about Razon when one looks at him at first glance. Watching Razon standing in a crowd, one can see that he carries the stance of a well-off individual, his speech is not anything outside of polite, especially in public situations. While there are times he would be heard raising his voice, he would always watch himself when in front of a crowd. His hands are always tucked away behind him, or hanging to his side, completely nonchalant and inconspicuous in the eyes of many. When you look at Razon, it's actually much harder to understand him.

Most people would simply call him strange. People would think Razon seems like a guy who wouldn't do anything unless asked but in reality, he has a lot of things on his mind. There are random times he acts a bit impudent around people, but on the most times he seems more mechanic. He's actually rather impulsive and unpredictable — no one could actually tell what he really wants to happen.

For those who are more familiar with him, Razon isn't that much of a puzzle. He likes when things are going, and he dislikes it when things go stale. He likes the feeling of being alive and in the moment. For many reasons, Razon is actually more drawn towards livelier people despite himself. He has a bit of an immature side in him but it's often overshadowed by the existence of his responsibilities.

Razon keeps busy with his day to day life; not a second wasted doing nothing. This is how he lives: on the go and always up to something. He's so restless that he just can't stay idle for long periods of time. While most other Reapers tend to stay still for a while until assignments roll in, Razon chooses to let himself to be more involved with the goings on, no matter how mundane they are.

Razon is also the kind of guy who tends to act on his own, making him probably one of the least fitting to become a Reaper of his faction. He likes looking for loopholes, and skirting around rules. Razon is just... really bad at following orders down to the letter, but he's actually efficient even so. "The end is greater than the means" are words he lives by; there will always be a time that he would take things into his own hands. At the very least he does it all within reason.

In the 1000 years of his existence, he's gathered enough skills to start a good business and take care of a family and he would probably do well in whatever line he goes for if he ever bothers. He's actually pretty decent with his current jobs (ignoring the fact that Invidia keeps getting away from him). Among many of his skills in his arsenal is his knowledge of Morse code, a number of cipher types, and even Braille. He's very handy.

Razon is knowledgeable when it comes to electronics; he knows the ins and outs of any hardware: what works, what doesn't and what can potentially be hazardous in the long run. This goes the same for some information chemistry and physics. He possesses vast knowledge, as well as a very deep understanding of it. He can probably make bomb at home if he really needed one.

Still, he isn't perfect. Most are easy to overlook, but some can be very drastic. He's made a lot of mistakes due to his recklessness and stubbornness. It's no secret that he's has slights on his record after breaking some rules, but this hasn't completely stopped him yet from doing whatever he wanted.

・・ POWERS ・・

A reaper's active abilities is a set of powers granted by a "company-issued" magical item which is more familiarly known as the Reaper's scythe. This item can be lost and/or broken which will then be reported to their organization and will take at least 3 days to be replaced or repaired to functional use. In cases of probation, these items can be confiscated or locked.

Traditionally taking the appearance of scythes, this magical item nowadays takes the form of a physical key in all possible senses ranging from a skeleton key, to a key card, based on individual preferences. The item doesn't get summoned, but are carried at all times in their more compact forms. The scythe is imbued with their respective magical signature which act like pass codes which prevents others from using these keys. It doesn't prevent the Reaper from losing it though.

This item can still take the form of a scythe as it is the default, but even in this form, they cannot be used as actual weapons. The only purpose of the blade of the scythe is to assist the soul's removal from the body and "cutting open" portals. It cannot harm someone physically or readily remove souls, though being touched by the blade would cause them to fall asleep.

Using the scythe, Reapers are granted the ability for instantaneous teleportation, and the ability to use open portals to their headquarters (located in a hidden plane of reality) using the same principles of space travel and manipulation. Teleportation of short distances are easy to do with only seconds apart in between uses, but longer distances take longer cool down. If they will only be teleporting, say, 3 meters, they can do it simply seconds apart up until they tire themselves out. If they were to travel across Manta Carlos Islands from one shore to the other, the cool down may take over 24 hours.

A reaper cannot teleport distances over water meaning they cannot cross oceans and they most certainly cannot travel distances farther than 5,000 miles. They must also know the location they will need to teleport to, not simply by address but by the appearance of the location and route to be taken. So basically, Reapers can't teleport to places they've never been to.

Through the scythe/key, each Reaper is also given a special pocket dimension which serve as the 'courtroom' which where the departed souls will find the way that will lead to their fate. It appears differently per Reaper: to some, it appears as a river they would cross, to others, a tunnel, and in some cases, a small tea room — Razon's choice of lay out happens to be a nice pub house with him behind the bar. This is a Reaper's personal working space, not much different from having an office. It's a one-way space for departed souls to their fates, but other Reapers can freely come and go if they're allowed in, including those outside their faction.

When coming out of pocket dimensions (meaning the headquarters and their personal office), they simply return either back where they left from, or in their physical home if they decide so.

・・ SPECIES ABILITIES ・・

Immortality and Regeneration

Reapers are known to be immortal, non-aging, and cannot be killed permanently. Their bodies can be destroyed but they will always be returned to the physical world within 9 days' time; but not without evidence from their recent cause of death. They will be weak for a time, injured if they were beaten to death, until they recover fully on their own. Although, a reaper can die permanently if they are sanctioned with death by the High Authority.

Their healing rate is only up to three times faster than normal humans, which doesn't make them quite remarkable among regenerators. Curses and hexes bounce off from them, but they are not indestructible and they can be damaged with physical or direct magical attacks. If they end up with severed limbs, it will heal but it won't grow back unless they respawn again. (For more extreme cases, Reapers cannot initiate the respawn on their own and will have to be killed in order for it to happen. They are unable to harm themselves, and they are also not allowed to ask anyone to assist them — any attempts to do so will leave a mark on their records.)

While they don't fall seriously ill or become affected by toxins like drugs, poison, and alcohol, they do experience exhaustion and fatigue so they must eat and sleep. Their immunity to drugs extend both ways: they cannot die by overdosing or poisoning, but they also cannot benefit from their effects like anesthesia.

Sensory Abilities and Cloaking

Reapers have passive ability for magic sensory which is naturally given to all of them without needing magical items. Included here is their ability to see and interact with ethereal beings and actively pick up one's state of undeath. They can also detect aura and glamour magic. They cannot break the glamour or actually see what is behind it but they will recognize it like how one can see that someone is wearing a veil, while they see aura magic like a mist enveloping the user. They cannot fully resist aura effects unless simply knowing of it lets them do so.

They also have the ability to conceal themselves and become invisible to the naked eye--unless an individual has the ability to see ethereal beings. Reapers can become almost intangible to the physical world and unable to be touched by anything, but they must avoid 'physical' contact as much as possible because it can break the cloaking magic with too much exposure to it. Reapers also have the capability to mask their presence in a crowd without necessarily becoming invisible.

Other Limitations

A reaper cannot know death events in advance simply by looking at people. Their assignments are relayed information from the high authority that come in the form of cards enclosed in envelopes which are magically sent to their physical residences. They are delivered simply by materializing at designated spots in the home — more of often enough in the form of altars specifically designed for the purpose of receiving assignment notes.

Additionally, these Reapers are more compelled to follow direct orders given deities that have influence over death and the afterlife, regardless if it's the one they work under or other. While these Reapers are considered to be deathless, they can be permanently killed if it's done by the High Authority. Deaths dealt by other deities that have influence over death and the afterlife would not kill them permanently, but it would take more time to recover from.
Grim Reapers, as most are believed, have the duty to guide souls of those who passed into the afterlife upon their death — although this faction of reapers is not only limited to the afterlife. While Reapers of this faction deals with sending souls to oblivion, they mainly deal with guiding souls onto the next life. A reaper does not bring judgement to the soul: their only job is to see their assigned off to meet with their fate and these fates are decided by the high authority they are working under, who is otherwise referred to as a deity, or basically, a Death God.

Among the many rules and regulations bestowed on a Reaper is that they are forbidden to meddle with life and death--that is, they are not allowed to save anyone from death, nor are they allowed to kill others. Reapers are also not allowed to use their abilities for personal gain and satisfaction or to simply act against orders. Consequences can range from probation, suspension, and the worst case scenario, permanent death.

This faction is extremely organized and works with a hierarchy and a division of specializations not much different from companies in the mortal realm with majority of its members in the field while a select few are in divisions that handle assignments, scythe cases, and even one that handles Reaper cases. The High Authority above them is basically a Death God. Aside from the actually-spoken-and-written rules for Reapers, they also have special protocols that literally require paperwork in cases that the regular process reaping doesn't cover which makes being part of this faction a little too maddening compared to others.

・・ BIOGRAPHY ・・

Nearly a thousand years back, Razon lived as Hugo Caesaire, a respected knight, trusted by many of the people around him. Though he wasn't necessarily the kindest or in anyway well-known, he was recognized as one of those who were loyal to the crown and he showed this when his participated in what would be known in history as the First Crusade.

What these people would really expect is that he would eventually turn out to be a murderer. Over the course of 5 years, he would be found to have caused the deaths of over 100 people after falsely accusing them of crimes against the church and the king, with many of the killings done with his own hands. The tables would have been turned around after a while, when he met his death at the end of his own sword.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't remember any of this when he finally woke up from the long slumber that came after his death.

He came to know himself as a lowly Reaper, remembering nothing but the training he went though, and all the assignments he ever had. Anything before that was nothing but a void — no childhood, no youth, no death. All of a sudden he had a job to do and eventually found himself living life that way, simply as a witness to the endless cycle of death and rebirth.

Occasionally, his routine changes: he takes an assumed name, finds a place to live in, picks up a job, but nothing significantly changes. It simply gives him an identity to go by in his assigned places and adds to his work load. He never thought of making connections to others around him, finding it pointless in his line of work. But there were times mundane thoughts wander into his mind: having to watch all spirits return to the world, he wondered if there was anything more to him than being a reaper.

He hasn't found anything that would clue him in about his identity before becoming who he was now, or if he ever had one in the first place. Until this day, it's a question he doesn't have an answer to. Along the road, he'd taken various jobs, his most recent becoming an accountant to the Rosales family after he had been reassigned as a field coordinator and relocated to Manta Carlos Islands. He took the name Guillermo Razon as a name to go by. He worked alongside Vito and Klaus, quietly directing from behind the scenes.

Next thing he knew, he got appointed as an advisor and it was honestly the most troublesome thing he'd had to deal with right next to being assigned to areas when the justice system didn't exist and everyone just either rotted in dungeons or put to death. (An irony he would never realize.)
