Appearance + + +

Seong-eun's true appearance is that of fox, ghostly in appearance with her sheer white fur and golden eyes that's seemingly lit by an ominous glow. What takes her apart from regular foxes is how her size is almost twice as large, and more notably, the nine fox tails behind her.

Her shapeshifting gives her the ability to take any other form she wishes but she's usually fond of one form at certain times but it's almost often as a young woman. The form she takes as of late is a young woman, no older than 20, about 5'7 in height, with soft strawberry blonde hair that curls in at her shoulders with a fringe that's cut in a straight line right above her eyes. The shape of her face is rather round and pointed with a narrow chin. Her skin is beautifully fair, and she carries an air of mystery on her. Her eyes keep its golden color, and she also keeps a rather fox-like appearance with her eyes and especially the way she smiles. When under the moonlight, her appearance changes a little no matter which shape she takes. Her hair turns white like her fur, and her fox tails appear behind her like a ghostly apparition.

She has a particular taste in clothing herself. Her clothing senses lean more towards flowy and comfortable dresses that reaches her knees, though she seems to have her days when she wears pants but they're also just as lose and flowing as the rest of her outfit. Almost often, her dresses are the types that cinch below her bust or around her waist, complimenting the shape of her body and accentuating the curves of her body. Most of her ensemble is in white with very minimal splashes of color at a few places. One item she never fails to wear is a necklace with a pearl pendant.

On some days, Seong-eun takes a male form, not very different from her preferred female form. As her male form, she's about three inches taller, his hair is a bit longer, stopping a little above his elbows, less wavy and kept it in a rather loose ponytail at his nape. Her jaws are more defined this way and a little angular. In the same way, her eyes are golden and fox-like. These days, she likes to wear dress shirts and cardigans with slacks and loafers, still mostly white in color.

Personality + + +

Seung-eun is the sort of person you'd assume to be naive and childish, never really knowing what to do when something needs to be done. Her disposition makes people think she's the type to be a damsel in distress, since for one thing... she does act like it. Her voice is so light and her speech sounds like a melody; she hums a tune a lot of times and there's almost always a swing in her steps. But really, you could just probably owe that to her love for music.

As a person, Seung-eun is more than meets the eye. She may seem rather in the clouds but she's not the type to be swayed to others' demands. She's strong-willed, not easily influenced, and when she puts her mind to something, nothing can get in her way. Maybe she's a little stubborn, but that's what has made her survive all these centuries--heck it might as well be the reason for her to have become a Kumiho in the first place.

She's in no way impulsive when it comes to life-changing decisions; she lets these things simmer in her, letting it boil down in her system and decide when it's the right time, but this makes the impact of a resulting failure much worse for her. Seung-eun isn't the type to wallow, but she will take things to heart and cover it up with a smile and a playful personality. She doesn't like being pitied so she doesn't like talking about her own issues.

As a Kumiho, she's rather ambiguous. She doesn't openly talk about her feeding habits (which involves a periodical consumption of energy and eating human flesh at least once a year) nor does she ever talk about how she lives as one at all. Although she's rather open about being a shapeshifter, she's rather avoidant about revealing her identity as a fox, going as far as pointedly ignoring when the question is asked. When pushed any further she will angrily deny any sort of answer to the question and possibly storm off.

As a teacher, she's rather likeable. She isn't the type to be too lax to her students, but neither does she hold them too tight. She offers help and she's willing to assist them as long as they ask for her. She wouldn't be the one to approach herself unless something concerning comes up in some instance, but otherwise, she likes to keep her student-teacher relationship intact. Towards other staff members, she's like a breath of fresh air with her lively, almost child-like personality.

Seong-eun keeps everyone at a distance and while she tends to be one that is easily flustered and can be mistaken to be romantic, she doesn't really like the idea of romance, having turned down many suitors from before. While she refuses to admit anything, she's scared about falling in love, or even being so close to another to the point she feels dependent of their presence and approval. She doesn't like giving any part of herself to anyone, whether it's her devotion or her personal handicraft.

Her interests mainly revolve around music and nature. She's the type that would have music playing in the background in her own home and in her office, humming to the melody as she works throughout the day like a Disney Princess. She has a personal gallery filled with her own paintings, mostly scrapped or abandoned works-in-progress since she says she doesn't have the heart for it. Her home is evidence enough to how she lives her life trying to amuse herself with paintings, crafts, and cooking.

Species Abilities + + +

Kumiho

Kumiho are said to be fox spirits resulting from foxes that have lived a thousand years, having accumulated energy over its long life. While recent myths depicted Kumiho as malignant forces, they are rather similar to their Chinese and Japanese counterparts, having more ambiguous morals than anything. Kumihos are said to feast on humans, most especially the heart and the liver but they aren't really truly bloodthirsty creatures to be feared. Some kumiho had been known to be benevolent, sometimes even naive enough to be tricked by humans.

Kumiho have the ability to shapeshift freely, though they are known to appear with the guise of a woman, they can take any shape they want. There are tell-tale signs to see through their disguise such as some fox-like traits that persist into their other forms such as a fox-like face, a set of ears or even their tails, or sometimes even their nature. For beings who can identify by scent, there is something fox-like about a Kumiho that can reveal their identity.

Kumiho also possess a fox bead that provides them power. It's known to consist of knowledge so should a human steal and swallow it, they can gain vast knowledge and intelligence they could ever hope to conceive. Kumiho also use this bead to absorb human energy by passing the bead and retrieving them once it has collected the energy. There are various ways to do this but one known way is thought to resemble a deep kiss.

Biography + + +

Once there was a man--one who was considered with a heart of stone, never having loved anyone but his work. A woman came into his life one day and he was struck by her beauty. She was beautiful, though almost ghost-like in her beauty; all the people in the village would call her a vixen for capturing the heart of such a man. Immediately the man wooed the mysterious woman and she accepted him.

One day the woman gave him a small gem, claiming it was a fox's bead: a gift for her lover. He accepted the bead without hesitation and swallowed it. It became apparent soon after that it was an authentic bead, as the man became more successful than he could ever dream. He asked the woman where she got the bead but she would never answer. There came a time when he had pestered her so much about it that she gave in.

The woman revealed her true identity under a moonlit sky and it was then the man realized a great mistake. He accused the woman--the fox, of trickery, saying that she had given him the bead solely so that that she could feed from him. The fox denied this but the man insisted that she take back the bead and leave his sight.

And she did so. The fox then left, and she was never seen again. The man fell into a great depression and had died not long after. Folks believed it was because of how had crossed the spirit. Most believe the fox had gotten what she wanted but no one truly knew what became of the fox. Some say she had perished in the night from the heartbreak, some say they could still hear her howls of despair. Though some believe she had taken a new form and still wander the earth to this day.
