'he loves me not'

Kacey was just walking, when she found the way to the roof. She opened the door and walked up all the steps. She finally got to the top, she looked at the view. Then sat down, Kacey had two flowers in her hand. She had picked them earlier when she went to the cave that she found. She stuck one in her hair and kept the other. She decided on playing the 'he loves me, he loves me not' game. Pulling off the petals, she was getting close to the answer she was searching for. Finally Kacey came to the last one, "He loves me not." She said out loud. "No surprise I knew it."

Again, Chris found a girl intervening in his privacy.
He was beginning to think this was deliberate now.
The girl seemed depressed.
"Hey, you sure you used the right flower? Try the other one."
He walked closer to the girl.
"What's your name?"

Mimosa noticed the same girl she'd seen earlier in the ballroom, as she climbed to the roof.

She watched the girl, and smiled. "Who loves you not?" she asked, hoping she was not being too bold.

"My name is Kacey." She said taking the other one down from her hair. "Doesn't matter anymore." She said shaking her head slightly, as she dropped the flower on the floor.

Mimosa walked over to the girl, and sat on the edge, next to her. She snorted. This girl didn't really know her troubles, and Mimosa didn't really feel like burdening anyone else. "It's just a stupid flower," she said, trying to cheer her up.

"Yeah it is." Kacey said, picking the flower back up and throwing it over the roof. "I was just doing it for um fun. So no one really 'loves me not'." Kacey said, even though she actually was doing it for someone.

"Your mood doesn't make that seem very true. You looked pretty down."
Chris sat down next to the girl.
"And you don't do that about a game. What's the problem?"

"I'm the problem." Kacey said, looking at the floor and sighing sadly. She didn't know what to do, it was her fault for feeling this way. Everything was her fault, and she couldn't change anything now. It would only make bigger problems if she tried.

"What are you talking about? 'I'm the problem'? What continent did you blow up?"
Chris couldn't stand pessimists like this...people who blamed everything on themselves. He'd make it a job to cheer her up...at least for his own sake.

"I am." Kacey said thinking up the many reasons she was. "I lost my chance." She said. She couldn’t believe she finally said it, she finally said the truth. "I lost my chance." She repeated, "And now I’m suppose to pretend like I'm happy for him like he was for me."
