Okay, I wrote this on Christmas, which is kind of wrong, seeing as the poem's a bit dismal, but oh, well. Comments are appreciated

Long for what you know you cannot have.
That wonderful reverie
that you let sit in your mind
and taunt your current situation.
You set the standards
before knowing what to look for,
and you know it's all a fantasy
but you would give up everything for it.
You can't have it, love.
I'm sorry to let you down.
Your deepest hopes and dreams are nothing.
You can't go back in time.
You can't have what you want.
Forget it and move on,
that's all you can do to live.
Destroy your standards.
They don't matter in this world.
They'll only destroy your mind
and make your crazy for your dreams.
Don't try it, forget it.
Please, love, please forget me.
You can't have this fantasy
and there are so many others
you could come up with.
