Alone?

Terra was skipping... through the dark. Morning and night were her favorite times of day, but any time in between was pretty good too. She loved to skip. She twirled and skipped and whirled and jumped. Hyper energy let out at night ws best. Ooh, and in the morning! And during the afternoon... and about every other time of day.

She smiled at the dark shadows around her and pulled her jacket around her tighter. It was colder at night than during the day... no, really? Yes! Terra laughed. The grass was damp and smooshy under her weight.

She cartwheeled across the lawn, getting mud and snow on her hands. Ew. She shrugged and wiped them on her cargo pants. They were brown alreay, why did it matter if there was more brown on top? You couldn't even tell in the dark... and she'd wash them tomorrow or something.

She ran a little farther, than stopped, noticing someone laying in the grass. Wasn't he cold? The grass was wet!

She hop/skipped a little farther over to him, the grass slushing under her feet. She bounded forward and whispered, "Hi!" Best to be polite... after all it was night. Didn't want to wake anyone up. Was he asleep? Looked like it... no... his eye was open.

"Are you asleep? Can I stop whispering? It's really dark... do you like dark? It's dark outside! Are you awake now?"

Ithen leaned against the wall of the dorms. From here he could see over the expanse of the lawn, and part of the glassy(made-up-word?) lake behind it.
He could also see two shapes, presumablt srudents, a little ways off.
As he was incredibly bored, he figured he might as well talk to them. He left the wall and starting making his way over to them, walking slowly across the wet grass, and surveying the land around them.

He blinked as the boy ran off. Well, what am I supposed to do now? I'm already have way across the grass. Sighing, he continued over to the spot where the girl still stood.
'Hello there? What brings you out at this time of night.'
He then looked passed he at the land around, not caring what her answer was.

So many people to talk to! Terra's eyed widened and she laughed. She loved to laugh... it was an amazing sound.

Now, what did he ask? What brings me out here? "Everything! I love being outside!" She ran a little farther away and did a cartwheel. "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" she yelled, then ran back over.

"I'm Terra! Terra, Terra, Terra!" She spun in a circle and sat down on the grass, then laid backwards, getting mud in her hair. "Ooh, I can see a star! No, wait, that's a... airplane, I think..."

He blinked again. Wow, that's a lot of...happy.
He cleared his throat and said, 'Uh, yeah. I'm Ithen.' Then, without bothering to look up he said, 'And I think it's a plane.'
Putting his hands in his pockets, he looked around them, quickly getting lost in his own thoughts, and forgetting about the girl.

"Are you hungry?" she asked. "I'm hungry. I eat sooooo much, but I never get fat! Isn't that weird?" she pulled a banana out of her pocket and took a bite. "I got this from the cafeteria earlier," she explained.

"Whatcha thinking about?" she asked, staring into the same direction he was staring, obviously not paying attention. "I'm thinking about this delicious banana! It's so... yellow!"

'Oh, yes. It's quite yellow,' he said turning back to her. 'So, you seem like a very optimistic person. Though, I've only just met you, for all I know you could actually mean and cold. And just be in a good mood.'
He figured he might as well talk to her, he had nothing else to do.
Except sleep, he thought with a smal smile.
